AFP Citizen Watchdog and local newspaper publisher Douglas Kirk was named Photojournalist of the Year by the Houston Press Club in a recent statewide competition.
The Houston Press Club presented Douglas Kirk with its top photojournalism award Friday at a banquet honoring TV, Radio and Print journalists from all over Texas.
Kirk also walked away with Second Place and Third Place wins in the Feature Photo category, a Second Place win in the Sports Photo category, and Second Place in the Photo Package category.
The Photojournalist of the Year Award goes to the person who does well in other categories and presents a body of photography for the judges to consider for the top honor.
